TasteAI ("we", "our", or "us") operates the TasteAI mobile application and website (tasteai.app). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from your Google account. We use this to create and manage your TasteAI account.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including recipes generated, preferences (country, budget, dietary preferences), and recipe ratings.

Payment Information: If you purchase a premium subscription, payment is processed through Google Play. We do not store your credit card details. We only receive a transaction confirmation from Google Play.

To provide and personalize recipe generation based on your budget, location, and preferences
To save your recipe history and allow you to access past recipes
To manage your account and premium subscription status
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, payment receipts)
To improve our service and AI recipe generation
To display community recipes and enable recipe sharing

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission. Access tokens are stored locally on your device and are never shared with third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google Sign-In: For authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Supabase: For data storage and authentication infrastructure.
Groq: For AI-powered recipe generation. Recipe prompts are sent to Groq's API but do not contain personally identifiable information.
Google Play: For payment processing. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Brevo: For transactional emails (confirmation emails only).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share data as described in this policy (with service providers listed above) and as required by law.

When you share a recipe, only the recipe content (title, ingredients, cost) and your display name (if set) are included in the shared image or text. Your email and account details are never shared.

6. Community Recipes

Recipes you generate may be anonymously added to our community recipe database to help other users find budget-friendly meals. Your personal information is not attached to community recipes unless you explicitly share a recipe with your name.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data and recipe history for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email below.

8. Children's Privacy

TasteAI is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Opt out of marketing communications (we only send transactional emails)

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
